What it is actually like

You allow your camera, you are put on with one person, and either of you can leave at any moment. Most conversations last under a minute; occasionally one does not, and that is the whole appeal. People use it to practise a language, to fill ten minutes, or to see what somebody's evening looks like four thousand miles away.

It is also, historically, a category with a bad safety record. Omegle — the best-known site of this kind — shut down in 2023 after settling a child-safety lawsuit. That history is the reason the checks below exist rather than a marketing section.

How to do it without regretting it

  • Assume you can be recorded. The other person can film their screen. No site can stop that, including this one.
  • Give away nothing that identifies you. No full name, no workplace, no street, no social accounts. A stranger who wants those early is telling you something.
  • Leave the moment you want to. You owe a stranger nothing, and nobody is told why you left.
  • Report rather than argue. It takes a second and it goes on that device's record.

What Spoqi checks for you

  • A model in your own browser watches your camera and cuts it within about a second if it sees nudity — before the other person has seen much. Those frames never leave your device.
  • A second check on our servers is what issues bans, because a check running on somebody's own machine can be turned off by them.
  • Both look for apparent age as well. A confirmed reading under eighteen ends the chat and blocks the device.
  • Nothing is recorded: no video, no screenshots, no transcript.

Eighteen. Spoqi checks it while you are on camera as well as asking at the door — the automated check estimates age as well as looking for nudity, and a confirmed reading under eighteen ends the chat and blocks the device.
